Do I need dance experience?
You don’t need any prior dance experience to attend or benefit from our classes. You will feel at ease with our expert instruction and supportive atmosphere. Your fellow students are women just like you. We welcome all women! Don’t worry, you will soon be dancing like a DIVA! Most of our students progress very quickly.

Can any woman attend, even if I’m not young and fit?
We love to see ALL women in class! All ages, sizes, fitness levels are more than welcome. You will find our classes to be very supportive, diverse and welcoming to all. The average age of our students is between 35-55 years old. You must be 18 years or older to attend our classes, but we do recommend age 21 or older due to the adult nature and maturity level of our classes.

What are the classes like? What is the difference between the Intro/Taster and pre-registered classes?
Our Intro/Taster and Girls' Night Out classes are a mix of stretching, easy exotic dance moves, floor work, pole dancing, awesome music, great company and lots of fun! If you are a complete beginner we suggest our INTRO/TASTER class or the Girls' Night Out Intro classes held once a month or more on Fridays. Please pre-register for these classes, as they usually fill quickly. Our fitness and freestyle classes are reservation only/Drop-in classes , and are offered for currently enrolled or graduated students only, no new students please. LEVEL 1-5 classes are 60-75 min long, same day and time each week for 4-6 weeks.

EVERY STUDENTS HAS HER OWN POLE FOR PRE-REGISTERED CLASSES! No pole sharing!!!

For a more progressive learning experience we suggest enrolling in the LEVEL 1 - "TEMPTED" 4 week session.
The pre-registered classes offer a more structured learning environment, geared more towards empowerment and building self-esteem. They offer a supportive intimate environment with the same group of women for 4 weeks. In these sessions the student excels as a result of the individualized instruction. Level 1 classes and above are all about becoming a more fluid and intuitive dancer... we encourage you to bring your own music, offer music suggestions and start to unfold as a sensual and emotional being. You will develop more athleticism after a 4 week LEVEL 1 - "TEMPTED" session, and as a result will be able to excel more quickly with increased upper body/core strength.

What do I wear?
Yoga/workout type clothing that is form fitting, flattering and SEXY! We have found through experience that the students that wear clothing that makes them feel beautiful dance better! Black is always a great choice. Pants that cover your knees, boy shorts (for more advanced pole tricks). Tank tops are best, but with the upper back covered for sliding down the pole moves! We do not recommend wearing skirts or shorts to beginner classes. Some of the class is spent on the floor, doing stretching and floor dancing, and if your knees are covered it works best. Bring low profile or soft gel-type knee pads if you wish. Layers of stretchy clothing are usually a good bet. Bring or wear boy type shorts under your pants if you are in an advanced class, as you will not be able to do inverted moves and climbing if your legs cannot grip the pole. All classes are done barefoot or with dance shoes (barefoot ball of foot type dance shoes are available at the studio) Full socks are too slippery and dangerous. Some of the advanced classes allow time for wearing heels to practice.

What is the average class size?
Class size in an Intro/Taster or Girls' Night Out class may range from 10-15. Our pre-registered classes have class limit of 10 women, each student gets her own pole! . As we grow, we highly recommend emailing us or paying online to reserve your spot in an Intro/Taster or Girls' Night Out class.. The majority of our classes FILL well before the start date, so register early. If a class is at capacity you may be turned away at the door if you do not have a reservation or pre-payment.

How much do classes cost?

Can I pay for classes and workshops online?
Absolutely! We are currently accepting payments online through Paypal. It’s very easy to use, secure and you do not need a Paypal account to use it! Just go to our registration page and click on the class or workshop you wish to register for, click on the payment button, then pay and register online. You can use any type of credit card. It’s that simple! Once you pay your space is reserved. Highly recommended when deadlines draw near! Your spot in class is not guaranteed until we receive your payment. We do not "hold" spaces in classes, you must pre-pay all Pre-Reg 4-6week classes and workshops. You can also track how many spaces are left in the workshops, Girls' Night and Intro/Taster classes as well as pre-registered classes by checking the registration page. We currently accept CASH and CHECKS only at the studio.

Do I need to bring music?
You do not need to bring music to the classes, but feel free to bring any slow songs that inspire you! You will be encouraged to bring some of your own music to the pre-registered classes, as we focus more on individuality, growth and progressive learning. Your own music choices in class helps to inspire you to be a more intuitive and emotional dancer. Women often want to develop a routine for dancing for their partners, and that routine is often worked on in class (Level 2 and above) Our sound system is iPod compatible, so feel free to bring your iPod to share your playlists and music with your class!

Is there any nudity?
There is NO nudity in any of our classes. We focus on helping you to feel more sensual, but our classes do not focus on 'sleazy' movement or vulgarity in any way. Our classes are supportive and classy. (OK...a little naughty!)

What is your studio like?
Our main studio is 3,000 square feet of Bliss! Seriously, it’s lush, clean, beautiful and described by our students as calming, energizing, gorgeous... well, you get the picture! Our newly added beautiful SECOND studio is on the same floor, and offers 10 dance poles and 1450 sf. My favorite quote, and we hear this one often 'When I walk through the doors of Bliss I feel GREAT!' For our main studio we have a mix of 11 professional brass and stainless steel dance poles that tower 13’ high! Our ceilings are 14’. We have a beautiful new 12 x 12 stage with a 12' dance pole, great for parties, and just having a moment in the limelight! We recently installed a nightclub/disco lighting system for added ambiance during parties and part of regular classes!! We are located in a beautiful renovated mill building, on the Merrimack River. We have a southern exposure and river view in our corner unit, along with exposed brick and beautiful wood floors. Our décor also adds to our lush ambiance…orange, red and purple are the colors of Bliss. Walk through the doors and experience it for yourself!

I’m very shy and not yet comfortable coming to a group class, but want to try it…
Private lessons to start are the way to go! Nerves are normal, but once you come to a group class and see how supportive and fun it is, the nerves will change to excitement! We often recommend our LEVEL 1 - "TEMPTED" Pre-registered 4 week session for the shy student, as the atmosphere is more supportive and the instruction is more individualized and progressive. For those of you that just want to "try out" a class, our INTRO Taster Class for beginners or Girlss' Night Out Taster Class is held every few weeks and both are a great beginniner introduction with no committment. See Classes page for details!

Can I take classes if I am pregnant?
We must ask that you refrain from this class while pregnant. We may offer special pre-natal dance classes in the future. Please tell us if you become pregnant if you are in a pre-registered class and we will offer you a gift certificate to use in the future.

Do you sell dance poles?
We proudly sell X-Poles at Pole Bliss! . We now recommend and refer all of our students to X-Pole, from the UK, now distrubuting in the US. X-Poles are the preferred choice for ease of use, especially in taking the sections apart. We also love the people at the company! Please visit our registration/payment page for X-Pole purchases and information. We have poles in stock at all times!
The X-Pole the safest pole on the market, and I highly encourage you to buy a sturdy quality pole. Steer clear of any pole that is spring loaded, it's an ultimate recipe for disaster if you spin and put weight on it on a regular basis.
Our students that own poles excel very quickly, as practicing more than 2 times a week gets great results in dancing, spinning/trick progression and strength. If you do install your own pole, do it properly, and practice safely. Never do inversions without a spotter that is trained to spot and support your learning.

Can my husband or friends come and watch class?
We do not allow spectators or auditors in class. This is a woman-only environment to help our students feel at ease. If you wish to dance for your husband, boyfriend, partner or friend, you may book private studio time to do so. If you are a current student and wish to bring a friend, she must be willing to be a part of the class.

Do you offer private parties?
Yes! We offer a variety of parties! Bachelorette, Girls’ Night Out, Birthday, Divorce, Bridal showers, Classes for Corporate team building and more! We can customize a party to your needs. We can offer a party type atmosphere or a class geared towards learning. We can offer any of our workshops for your private/class or party as well. If you wish to book a private party, please do so well in advance, as weekend nights tend to book quickly, especially prior to and during prime wedding season! Our parties, events, workshops and classes are women only.

What if I miss a class in a pre-registered session?
Our policy for pre-registered classes is the following; Due to a very packed schedule we do not offer make-up classes in a group setting. You can make up ONE missed class with a private lesson for an additional charge of $50 or semi-private for $40, where we can catch you up on everything you missed in class and go over any personal challenges or things you wish to concentrate on. Please inform Leela in advance, if possible, should you need to miss a pre-reg class as it helps us to plan lessons and start the class on time.

Do you offer private lessons? Do you offer studio rental?
We offer private lessons and coaching. Women that are shy or have body image issues they wish to address and overcome often seek private instruction. In a supportive nurturing environment, Leela will assist you in seeing your inherent beauty, uncovering the dancer within! We also offer private coaching for dancers of all levels. Expert pole instruction is available to help you with the complicated spins and inversions should you wish to learn and advance in a private setting with one on one instruction. Private group classes are available as scheduling allows. If you have a group of friends interested in a regular class, please inquire!!
PLEASE NOTE; If you are interested in becoming a professional exotic dancer, or are currently a dancer we suggest private lessons rather than our regular group classes due to the sensitive and differing nature of the subject material.
Studio time is available should you wish to dance for your partner or friends. Private practice studio time is available for the seriously pole addicted. (Studio rental is only available to our registered students)

Pole Bliss Policies
Please Note:
* You MUST be 18 years old or more to attend our classes. We HIGHLY recommend age 21+ due to the adult nature and maturity level of the classes. Women only! No spectators or visitors to any classes, no exceptions.
* Arrive early! Class will start on time...if you arrive late, you will have to stretch properly, then join class. No participation in class until you are stretched. This is for your own safety and well-being.
* Please pay or check in if you have a multi-class bundle upon arrival. We take CASH and CHECKS at the door. If you wish to pay by credit card, you may pay online. No admission to class unless you pay prior to class. New students must fill out and sign waiver prior to participation. If you have reserved a spot in a reservation only class and do not call or show up your class will be deducted from your balance. We held a space for you.
* Please do not wear body/hand lotions or oils the day of class. There is a safety concern with slippery poles, and lotion is often the culprit!
* Remove ALL rings and bracelets prior to class. You will not be allowed to participate in class with hand jewelry on. The poles are getting scratched, despite my best efforts to ask people to remove their jewelry. Put your valuables in a safe place, or leave them at home. We are not responsible for lost or stolen items.
* Arrive to class sober! Please do not drink or take any drugs prior to class! Your safety is at risk, and the comfort of other students is in jeopardy if you are under the influence. We will ask you to sit out of class if we think you are under the influence, as it is a safety issue and liability risk. Even if we SMELL alcohol you will be asked to sit out class. No refunds will be given if asked to sit out of class
* Pole dancing is a challenging workout, and you need to build your strength to do many of the spins/tricks. Please give yourself time to build that much needed strength. Doing too much too fast can lead to injury. DO NOT attempt spins or weight bearing movements until you are thoroughly warmed up, and only with instructor supervision! No inversions without instruction and only with an instructor spotting you!
*Please do not attend classes if you are pregnant. We advise you to get doctor's clearance to particpate in class after you have given birth. 3 months is usually recommended, but please seek the advice of your doctor, as each woman has a different healing time.
* Please be supportive of the other students in class. We pride ourselves on our supportive nurturing environment, let’s keep it that way!
